Ellrott Custom Landscapes draws our inspiration from nature and the amazing gardens we’ve created and worked in. Thomas Ellrott started landscaping professionally in 1990 in San Diego, CA. He worked as a crew member for his brother Tim’s company while saving money to fund a year-long surfing adventure into the South Pacific. The trip was formative. Thomas found work in gardening and learned sustainable horticultural practices that extended his travels and shaped his future. More landscaping, traveling, and community college followed. This led to a degree from UC Berkeley in Physical Geography and Biogeography. In 2005, Thomas and his young family moved to Newburyport, MA where he adapted and continued to follow his true passion of creating and caring for sustainable gardens. Today Ellrott Custom Landscapes works with amazing clients and craftspeople to create and care for some of the finest properties in New England.
